This worldwide known city is home of the oldest university in the country, University of Oxford. It is one of the most famous and prestigious higher education institutions of the world. The harmonious architecture of Oxford university buildings inspired a poet Mathew Arnold to name Oxford "the city of dreaming spires".  This historical city is also home to wide range of schools, many of which receive students from around the world.
Oxford has numerous major tourist attractions, many belonging to the university and colleges.  The city centre has plenty of shops, several theatres, and an ice rink. The historic buildings make this location a popular target for film and TV crews.  Oxford is a very green city, with several parks and nature walks within the ring road, as well as several sites just outside the ring road.
